This October, we're trying something new at Daymaniat Shells.

For a limited time, we're introducing our Early Bird Snorkeling Trip to the Daymaniat Islands, departing earlier than our regular morning trip.

The idea is simple: leave Muscat earlier, arrive at the islands before the busiest part of the day, and enjoy a more peaceful start to your snorkeling adventure.

Why an Early Bird Snorkeling Trip?

The Daymaniat Islands are one of Oman's most popular destinations for snorkeling and marine life — and for good reason.

Beautiful coral reefs, clear water and the chance to encounter turtles, rays, reef fish and other marine life attract visitors throughout the year.

As the islands have become more popular, some snorkeling sites can naturally become busier during peak times.

So this October, we're experimenting with a different approach.

We're setting the alarm a little earlier.

Our Early Bird trip leaves ahead of our regular departure, giving us the opportunity to reach the islands earlier and hopefully enjoy some of the snorkeling sites before the main rush of boats arrives.

We can't promise we'll have the islands to ourselves, but an earlier departure gives us the best possible start.

Early Bird Trip Details

🕖 Time: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Departure: Al Mouj Marina, Muscat
🤿 Snorkeling: Two snorkeling sites at the Daymaniat Islands

The experience follows the same concept as our regular half-day snorkeling trip — just earlier.

Snorkeling equipment and life jackets are provided, along with drinking water, fresh fruits and sandwiches.

Our experienced crew will choose the snorkeling sites according to the sea conditions and conditions at the islands on the day.

What Can You See?

Every trip to the Daymaniat Islands is different — and that's part of what makes snorkeling in the wild so special.

You may encounter green and hawksbill turtles, rays, reef sharks, moray eels, colourful reef fish and many other marine species.

October is also a beautiful time to explore the reefs surrounding the islands.

Marine life is wild and free, so specific wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.

What About the Beaches?

During October, the beaches at the Daymaniat Islands remain closed for turtle and seabird nesting.

That doesn't stop us from snorkeling.

Our trips continue at the beautiful reefs surrounding the islands, with two different snorkeling stops planned during the Early Bird experience.

Beach access reopens from 1 November, when our winter season and Full-Day Snorkeling Trips return.

Why Are We Trialing It?

At Daymaniat Shells, we're always looking for ways to improve the experience for our guests while reducing unnecessary pressure on popular snorkeling sites.

Instead of simply adding more trips during the busiest times of the day, we're curious to see whether starting earlier can offer our guests a more relaxed experience.

So throughout October, we'll be testing our Early Bird departure and listening to feedback from our guests.

And if everyone loves it?

The Early Bird might be here to stay.
